First Visit

Your first appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options.  Usually your endodontic treatment can be done the same day as your consultation.  However, sometimes a complex medical history or treatment plan will require a second appointment to provide treatment at a later date.  Dr. Baer would like you to be comfortable during your visit.  If necessary, he offers multiple options to help you feel relaxed during your treatments.  If you are interested in laughing gas (nitrous oxide) or IV sedation, please let Dr. Baer or the staff know.  We have worked with our anesthesiologist, Dr. Ballard, for many years for all IV sedations.  He is fantastic and will ensure your comfort while you sleep through your root canal experience.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip if required by your insurance company.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary identification card.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation and treatment visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e. diabetes, pregnant, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.), if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.), or require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med).
